Bio/CV: 

Grace Ufuk Taneri is Chancellor Emeritus and one of the Founders of the Eastern Mediterranean University, Professor of Mathematics with specialization in Quantum Theory (BS, PhD University of London, UK), Founding President of EMINENCE Quality Management Consulting Ltd. in Cyprus, and Consultant on Quality in Higher Education and Organizational Excellence. She has served as senior Executive Leader, Professor, and Research Scholar in multicultural and global higher education institutions, applying more than 30 years of international higher education experience to research and teaching, academic, administrative and operational management, faculty, staff, student and institutional performance, and personal and professional enrichment, championing quality, international and global higher education market, university networks, and global collaborations.

Grace Ufuk has an international career; she has been a Research Associate of Quality at both UW-Madison, US and University of Westminster, UK, a Research Associate of Mathematics at University of Waterloo, Canada, and a Research Associate of Quantum Theory at King’s College London. She has also served as Expert Evaluator in Brussels for EU Research Proposals. She has collaborations globally with eminent researchers in Ukraine, Poland, UK, and the US. Further, she took ASQ’s (American Society for Quality) professional training on Quality Management and Organizational Excellence.

Grace was a Research Scholar at CSHE in the first five months of 2016, working with CSHE’s John A. Douglass and Richard Edelstein on Globalization in Higher Education. They are particularly interested in ventures of the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the West (the US, Canada, and Europe) in the HEIs of East (Asia and the Middle East). As part of this research work, she gave a conference on “Academic Freedom & Value Protection Conundrums: How Global Engagements of Universities and Colleges Foster an On-going Debate”, at the Social Science Matrix, UC Berkeley, in May 2016. A paper is now being finalized for publication. She visited the universities and research centers of Singapore in December 2016. She is a Research Scholar yet again to in part contribute to this continuing research that entails 10 case studies with an ultimate goal of publishing a book. She is interested in making the globalization efforts success stories for all involved.
