SERU AAU Consortium

Formed in 2008, the SERU Consortium currently includes fifteen major US public research universities, including all nine undergraduate campuses of the University of California system and six other AAU institutions:Rutgers University, University of Florida, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, University of Minnesota, University of Oregon, and University of Pittsburgh.

In the Spring of 2009, members of the SERU AAU Consortium administered the SERU Survey that included a core set of common questions and specialized modules generated by each institution. Nearly 59,000 undergraduates submitted a survey out of a total population of approximately 146,000. Response rates among the six participating universities ranged from 26% to 69% and, in the aggregate, totaled 40%.

Information about the objectives, benefits, agreements, and costs to become a member are located in the “SERU Consortium General Document and Agreement.” More information on the formation of the SERU AAU Consortium can be found in the 2008 SERU/AAUDE Webinar, a ninety minute presentation (Adobe Flash Player required) introducing and inviting large research universities to join the SERU AAU Consortium.
