Bio/CV: 

Andrew Schwartz is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Elon University whose research focuses on the financing of higher education and its implications for access and inequality. His work examines how household financial well-being shapes student borrowing decisions, using large-scale administrative financial aid data. This research highlights how families’ balance sheets influence educational financing choices in ways not fully captured by financial aid formulas. He also conducts research in corporate finance, examining how institutional environments shape firm decision-making. He received his PhD in Finance from UC Berkeley and his BSBA in Business Administration and Mathematical Decision Sciences from UNC Chapel Hill.
