In September, ELA collaborated with the Blum Center and the US Agency for International Development’s Digital Workforce Development Program to enhance the capacity of Cambodian Higher Education Institutions (HEI) to meet international standards. To support the program, ELA provided a workshop for 12 visiting Rectors and other HEI partners from Cambodia.
The workshop provided training in higher education leadership skills, strategic planning and establishing an executive presence. The sessions were presented by Josefina Castillo Baltodano, Founder and Executive Director of ELA, and Jan Holmgren, Former President of Mills College and CSHE Affiliated Faculty. Helena Brykarz, CSHE center manager and Samantha Rushing, Associate Director & Executive Assistant to the ELA Board provided administrative support. Participants expressed their strong desire to apply these new ideas in their leadership roles at Cambodian universities.
