The Student Experience in the Research University (SERU) Consortium successfully hosted its 2024 Symposium, "Leveraging Data for Student Engagement and Wellbeing in Undergraduate and Graduate Education," on September 17-18 at the University of Toronto, Canada. Co-sponsored by the CSHE, together with the School of Graduate Studies and the Division of Student Life at the University of Toronto, the symposium was a major event for SERU member universities to share their expertise on data-driven approaches for the holistic development of undergraduate and graduate students.
Over 70 participants from around the world convened for two days of engaging discussions. Key topics included improving student mental health and creating healthy learning environments within universities, promoting student wellbeing , examining the impact of artificial intelligence on the student experience, seeking civil discourse on today’s campuses and exploring best practices in using SERU and gradSERU data to support decision-making.
