I am an Assistant Professor of Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining at Teachers College, Columbia University(link is external), Research Affiliate at Community College Research Center(link is external), and Faculty Member of Data Science Institute(link is external). I received my doctorate from UC Irvine(link is external) and master’s/bachelor’s degrees from Peking University(link is external). These degrees span education, public policy, computer science, and economics.
My research centers around responsible AI and educational/social equity. I have won multiple best paper awards and nominations at international research conferences, as well as numerous research accolades such as Emerging Scholar Award from Society for Learning Analytics Research(link is external) and Data Science for Social Good Fellow from Alan Turing Institute(link is external). My current research has been generously supported by leading education philanthropists and organizations.
