Harold Shapiro is the President Emeritus of Princeton University and the University of Michigan and the only president to have been listed by Change magazine as one of the most influential university presidents in both the 1980s and the 1990s. He served as a member of President George Herbert Walker Bush's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology and was appointed by President Clinton to chair the National Bioethics Advisory Commission.
This is the inaugural set of Kerr Lectures, a biennial event named in honor of Clark Kerr, President Emeritus of the University of California.
